I am confident that I am talented, and feel more comfortable in a pair of Levis and perhaps a dress shirt -but no tie. Could my work help speak for itself?
Obviously, you can do whatever you want. However, an interview is not about you being comfortable...it's about first impressions. If you walked into my office with jeans and a dress shirt, I would think you were lazy and did not care about this job. Your kicka** resume would mean nothing to me because all I would be able to see is that you did not care enough about my job and my company to put your best foot forward.
My recommendation...nice slacks, black shoes, button up shirt (tie optional). This says serious, but laid back. A suit, however, tells me 'Extra Mile all the Way.'

Better to be overdressed than show up scruffy and fail the interview.
I've done hundreds of interviews, and had quite a lot of jobs. I know what I'm talking about.
If I were interviewing for such a job, I would go for 'business casual' look. No jeans, but nice pants and a dress shirt or at least a collared shirt or a sweater.
I would wear a suit, but since this is a creative field you do not have to be overly conservative. You could get away with a modern look rather than a straight conservative business look. Your dress relays your seriousness about the job at hand.
