if i were to have a career in graphic design what exactly would i be doing and can expect? about how much to graphic design artists make a year? what types of programs would i be using? I am a graphic designer. You are required to know the latest Adobe Creative Suite along with Quark. You can do anything from designing ads, books, or web. Working with type, layout, and form is a main part of design. Money depends on where you live. But can range from 35,000 - 100,000 a year depending on level achieved. Check out the AIGA its the main graphic design group that most designers belong to. You see the AT&T Logo and the Yahoo logo? That is done by a graphic designer. How much a graphic designer makes depends on their talent, marketing, and where they live. The range starts at $0, and many make less than $30,000 per year.
